AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Mixers

Want some more information on the 24 Day Challenge that we just finished? Well we are having a get together to discuss what we did, the products that we used, and the amazing results that we got.

We are going to Host a 24 Day Challenge starting on November 1st, we will have prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place!

We are going to have 2  Mixers before the challenge starts, there will be one on October 7th and another one on October 28th -- both at 2pm.

There were 22 people that did the 24 day challenge with us in September, and the end results for the team were amazing:
We lost over 170lbs, 34% body fat, and a total of 75 inches!
Personal totals:
Robyn lost 14.5lbs, 2.59% body fat, and 13 inches!
Mattie lost 5lbs, 5.41% body fat, and 6 inches!
The weight loss was amazing; but the more amazing part of this challenge is that it gave us more energy, taught us how to eat right, and kick started a healthy lifestyle.

If this is something that you are interested in, we want to invite you to an information mixer at my house (message me for details).

We will also have food and SPARK!

ARE YOU READY TO MAKE A HEALTHY AND EXCITING LIFESTYLE CHANGE?

The Challenge is OVER!

Okay -- it has been a couple of days -- and the AdvoCare Friends and Family 24 Day Challenge is over, and was VERY successful!  Here are the final results (pictures will be posted soon):

Start Date 8/27/2012                 End Date  9/19/2012            FINAL RESULTS
Weight:            184.5                                        170                                       14.5lbs lost
Body Fat %:    35.79%                                    33.2%                                   2.59% Body Fat lost
Waist:               38"                                           32"                                        6" lost
Hips:                 46"                                           41"                                        5" lost
Right Arm:       14"                                           12"                                        2" lost
Total Inches:    98"                                            85"                                       13" lost

Not only did I get fabulous weight lost results, I have more energy and feel better than I have in my life!  Also, I have a slight bit of Rosacea, the paleo diet and supplements have even helped the redness go away!  This is AWESOME, the rosacea has been getting worse the older I get, and it is amazing to see such a difference!

The number one question I have been asked since the challenge is over, is "Are you excited to eat carbs again"?  The answer to this question is NO!  The way I see it, is that the paleo diet was a huge part of the successful results that I achieved!  Yes, the AdvoCare supplements and vitamins were a HUGE factor in kickstarting my metabolism, upping my energy levels, and giving me the nutrients that my body needs.  However, I am now a true believer in what the Paleo diet is all about -- and it is delicious and easy!  Does this mean that I will never eat a desert, or a sandwich, or a slice of pizza ever again?  NO -- it is just that from this point on those things will be treats, and special occasion meals.  Actually since the end of the challenge, I have not even wanted to eat anything bad.  That has been weird for me!  I have been waiting for three weeks, dreaming of eating a delicious slice of New York Style Cheesecake -- and yesterday I did not even want anything.  I was so happy with the results, I kept thinking that a slice of cheesecake may cause me to gain all 14.5lbs back!

So what is next?  My weight goals are simple -- to continue eating "REAL" food, to start a exercise program (starting Couch25K on Oct 2nd), to continue to move toward a healthier lifestyle, and to get to my goal weight of 125lbs by the end of the year!  My financial goals are to really throw myself into this AdvoCare business -- which is going to be hard work, but exciting for me -- because I truly believe in these products, and I want to share them with everyone -- I WANT EVERYONE TO REAP THE BENEFITS THAT THEY HAVE GIVEN TO ME!

In other AdvoCare news -- we are going to host an AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge starting November 1st -- just in time for the holidays!  More info to come, but if you are interested in loosing weight, gaining energy, changing your lifestyle, and possibly looking for a little extra income -- shoot me a message, email, or leave a comment.  I would love to help you start meeting your goals!

Friends and Family 24 Day Challenge Days 21 22

Hello beautiful day!  We have had so much rain over the weekend, this morning has been so nice, cool, and smells like fall!

So lets see, yesterday was so rainy -- however, we still hit two farmer's markets.  Mueller was a lot less crowded, and actually pretty nice because it was covered.  We keep wanting to hit up the seafood at Mueller -- mainly for the scallops.  We were hoping since it was raining he would still have some scallops, but no of course he sold out before we got there!  So we picked up some jumbo shrimp and flounder. Then we got some delicious sweet and spicy italian sausage (we ate that for lunch with some onions, mushrooms, and sweet peppers -- YUM).  We then went to Hope Farmer's market -- not covered, so a little wet -- but we picked up some tomatoes, summer squash, white bell peppers, anaheim peppers, sweet peppers, and some eggs.  Buying locally fresh food is so fun, and so much more tasty -- it is part of our new routine on the weekends!  It has also been fun meeting and getting to know the farmers!  For example, next weekend we will for sure get those scallops -- because all I have to do is text him in the morning, and he is going to hold 2 lbs for me!  Love my local Farmer's Markets!  Oh yeah, and for dinner we had RABBIT STEW!!!!  Seriously good!

Yesterday also got me thinking about how this 24 day challenge has changed my life!  I have been thinking about it the whole time, but I really figured it out yesterday. Let me start off by saying, that I feel better  than I have felt in years!  It is not just the weight loss, and really that is not my main focus.  Starting this was to me a lifestyle change.  A change that I really needed to feel better physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

For those who do not know me, I am a very social person -- I love being around people, I love going out, I love going to hear live music -- but it seems like since college I have been drinking too much, staying out too late, and not taking care of myself the way I should be.  Through out the last 21 days, my social life has changed.  Much of this has to do with the fact that getting together with my friends revolves around going out and drinking -- and since I have not been drinking, I really have no reason to go out.  Now do not get me wrong, I have been out at night like 4 times to go see some of my friends play shows, and have had a great time doing it -- but I am not going out 4-5 nights a week like I have been known to do in the past.  And I am usually home and in my pajamas around midnight (not 4am).  Anyway back to the point -- the not going out has been a major change.

The eating has also been a big part of this change.  I have been trying really hard since the beginning of 2012 to start eating right, but for the last almost 3 weeks, it has been a very strict paleo diet.  Some may think that this is hard, but actually it has been fun!  Through out this challenge you have read about the adventures to the farmers markets, and the things I have cooked -- this is fun, and a new way of cooking for me.  I love to cook!  I am one of those people who do not use recipes -- I have always been someone who throws a meal together -- and it is so much more fun being able to use farm fresh ingredients!  And eating meat and veggies is awesome -- what more do i need!  I feel so much better, and my body digests this food so much easier.

I will say, the biggest and most major change has been the supplements.  Rob (my man friend) has been telling me for years to take vitamins.  It is not something that I have ever really done.  I am not good at taking any type of pills or tablets.  I am allergic to most pain medicine, and I have never really been an antibiotic person (a little hippie at heart, and believe that there is a natural way to heal any illness).  So adding supplements and vitamins into the mix has been huge.  Through this 24 day challenge I am taking about 22 supplements and vitamins a day!  I know that sounds like a lot, because it is a lot.  But it is the stuff my body needs to ensure that I am absorbing all the nutrients that I am taking in.  And honestly I feel better than I have in years, and possibly my entire life!

So back to how this is changing me and my outlook on life.  I am ready to make a difference in my life and other peoples lives.  I am ready to let my creativity and my dreams take over.  I am a big believer in the law of attraction, positive thinking, and believing that there is something bigger for me out in this beautiful world.  And I am ready to take it all in!  I know now that I am suppose to be a healthy version of me -- and I want to share my successes and passions with the world.  The best way for me to do this is through AdvoCare.  So with that being said, I am going to take this opportunity that has been shown to me and run with it.  I know too many people who want to loose weight, too many people who want to have more energy, and too many people who want to earn more income.  I know already, and it has only been 22 days that I have been using these products -- and my life has changed, and will continue to change in a positive way.

Here is our site -- please take a look and ask any questions -- if I do not have the answer, I have the greatest support through this opportunity, and I will find the answer for you!

Friends and Family 24 Day Challenge Days 16 - 20

It has been too long!!!!!  But I have been busy!  So where do I begin?

Day 16:  We drove into Houston on this day!  That was fun!  We took the scenic route, stopped in the small town of Chappell Hill and bought some sausage, jerky, and pickles!  Called in a forest fire -- that one was scary!  We were going to my sister's house to help her out with an AdvoCare Mixer that she was having the next day!

Day 17:  Woke up, had some breakfast, went to my very first WOD at Crossfit Champions -- needless to say, this was my very first time to do Crossfit.  All I will say about that, is that it is 4 days later and I am still hurting!  After the workout, we went to Hubble and Hudson in the Woodlands -- I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!  I wish we had one in Austin!  Then we went to the new Trader Joes in the Woodlands -- not impressed.  The wine prices were amazing, but do not understand the hype!  I am hoping the one that is opening in Austin in 2013 is going to be a little better than the sad one in the Woodlands!  After that we came home to get ready for the mixer.  I believe that when you invite people to an event at your house, you should feed them so that is what we did!  Because of the challenge, and the crossfitters, I decided to do a Paleo menu for the night.  Here is what we served:
Chicken Teryiaki Meatballs
Yonder Ways Farm Bratwurst with Mustard
Plantain Chips with Spicy Guacamole
Thai Deviled Eggs (NO MAYO -- I used almond butter instead -- IT WAS DELISH)
Broiled Figs with honey, nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove
paleo Brownies

It was a successful mixer!

Day 18:  The weather was awful all day!  But my nephew and I decided we were going to drive to Round Rock to go to an AdvoCare Business Opportunity Meeting -- this was going to be my 4th AdvoCare event to attend, so I decided before we went -- I should get my ass in gear and sign up to be a distributor.  SO I DID!!!!  So this is now my newest adventure!

Day 19:  I had to take care of my boyfriend - he hurt his hip, and thought it may be broken so we went to the doctor, and the emergency room to get him all checked out!  The good news is that nothing is broken -- just really sore!  We also went camera shopping, but yet again walked away with nothing!  One day soon the camera thing is going to happen!

Day 20:  TODAY!!!!  Woke up, had some coffee and breakfast -- then we went to an AdvoCare Training!  So today I have been getting ready to start on this journey of helping people better their lives through healthy living!  I am excited about it!  I know what the last 20 days of being on the challenge has done for me and the way I feel -- and I am ready to share it with the world!!!!

I can not wait to see the end results of this challenge!  Are you ready to make a change in your life?

Friends and Family 24 Day Challenge Days 13 14 15

I have had so much energy the last few days that I have not even been around to sit down and write my blog posts the last couple of days.  So here they are:

Day 13 - Woke up early and went for a 5 mile walk!  First of the fall -- the weather was AMAZING, the walk was a little slow, the company was great!  My friend Ashley joined me on the walk.  I am so proud of her!  She was not able to do the challenge with us this go around, but she has been eating paleo -- she is doing great!  After our walk, we went to the downtown farmers market and bought some produce, bacon, and Italian sausage!  Which brings me to lunch!  I made Italian sausage, onions, and sweet peppers -- and hands down it was the most delicious Italian sausage I have ever eaten in my life!!!!!  It is so true that buying fresh and local is so much better -- taste better and is just down right better for you!  After lunch was the first A&M football game of the season.  For those of you who do not know me -- football is not really my sport (I am a basketball fan), but my manfriend played football for A&M in college -- so needless to say this is a big deal in my house!  Anyway, the first half of the game was pretty awesome -- and I have just decided it is best not to talk about the second half! After the disappointing football game, my nephew and I went to the Mohawk (a live music venue/bar) for Wild Frontier Fest to see some live music -- mainly What Made Milwaukee Famous and Look Mexico because these are my friends bands.  We did however also get to check out some more really great local music.  By the time we got home, I was so exhausted.

Day 14 - Woke up, ate a delicious breakfast, then went to a new farmer's market at Mueller Park -- man was it crowded!!!!  We tried to walk around, but it was a little stressful and we decided to leave.  We left that farmer's market, and went to HOPE farmer's market on east 5th.  It was also crowded, but at least we were able to shop.  We bought some more produce, eggs, and a rabbit (to eat, not pet) -- we plan on making rabbit stew -- that will be something new!  Yesterday, was kind of a lazy day -- and those are nice.  Also, it was the most beautiful day -- maybe that is why everyone was out side!

Day 15 - TODAY!!!!!  Woke up this morning and made some eggs, bacon, and avocado -- now the bacon we should talk about.  On Saturday we planned on buying some thick cut bacon, but they were out -- so we bought jowl bacon.  Now I must say, that it may be some of the most delicious bacon I have ever had!  Who would have thought that cheek bacon would be so much better than other bacon -- I mean bacon is already so good, how does it just get better!?!?!?  I do not know, but it is better, and thick, and AWESOME!!!!  I am not sure what the rest of the day will bring, but I am excited to see what is going to happen.

Friends and Family 24 Day Challenge Day 12

Day 12 has been great -- again more energy than ever!  I have felt hungry all day, not sure what that is all about, but I stuck to my 3 meals and 2 snacks -- I guess some days you are just hungrier than others.

I am excited about tomorrow.  I am meeting some of my ladies to start walking again at 8am.  Austin is getting a bit of a cold front tomorrow -- and that is exciting!  The high today was 106 -- that is HOT!  But tomorrow the high is only 91!!!!  It is suppose to be in the mid 70s in the morning, and I am excited to get back out there!

Friends and Family 24 Day Challenge Day 11

Okay, today seemed to be a completely different day -- I felt amazing all day long.  I have had tons of energy, and I just all around feel different.  Maybe it was the fact that I woke up early this morning and did not have to drink a fiber drink, or maybe it was the eggs and bacon, or the added supplements from the MNS Max 3 packets -- I am not 100% sure what the difference is, but I like it.

Not only did I feel great and eat great today, but I also went for a wonderful swim at Deep Eddy pool.  Then after that I went to an AdvoCare Business Opportunity meeting -- so be on the lookout for more information on that.

More than anything, today I really had some time to really think about what all of this means to me.  Why am I doing this challenge, and how is it going to change who I am?  Honestly I do not know the entire answer to this question, but what I do know is that I am changing.  I am really focusing on what it is that I want to happen in my life.  Right now, I know that I am tired of being in this body -- it is not the body that I am suppose to have, or want.  So this is my first step to change -- and I am, for the first time in a long time ready to make it a priority.  It feels good to take control of my own life.

Friends and Family 24 Day Challenge Day 10

YAY!!!!!!!  The cleanse part of the challenge is over -- and I have lost a total of 7lbs!  I can not wait to begin the FAT BURN part of the challenge in the morning.

MNS Max 3 -- Here is the site to explain this Comprehensive Weight Management Program and why it is so important.

I am looking forward to loosing more weight, having more energy, and continuing to kick start my new healthy life style.  On top of all of the supplements, I will continue to practice the paleo lifestyle.  The diet more than anything is really something that I truly believe is making the biggest difference.  I have said this before, but taking processed and genetically altered foods out of my daily routine has not only made me feel AWESOME -- it has been so super easy. Is this to say, that I will never eat pizza, or dessert, or fried foods ever again? -- the answer is NO!  I love all of those things, but from this moment on it will all be done in moderation.  I will not have days that I call cheat days!  I will just continue to eat real food, until a special occasion or a  special night out.  I will not stress over what I can and can not eat -- I will just eat REAL food.  On top of eating the right foods, I will also begin eating locally more.  We are already excited about checking out a brand new farmers market this coming Sunday!

I also need to say that this has also been so easy on me because of the support I have around me.  It is hard to make any type of change if you are not supported.  We have 22 people doing this challenge - we started a Google Group, and everyone is so great with the emails, the tips, and the encouragement.  But even more than that I have 3 of my best friends, my nephew, and my cousin all in Austin doing the challenge with me.  This has really made a huge difference these last 10 days, and I know we will all continue to keep each other accountable for the next 14 days.

Friends and Family 24 Day Challenge Day 9

The cleanse part of the challenge is almost over -- one more day of the fiber drink!  Today has been a good day!  Had more energy than ever -- but it is so hot in Austin.  I am looking forward to the "cold front" that should be coming in this weekend!  I am ready to get back to my walks around Town Lake.  I am excited to see my results with this challenge -- it has been one of the easiest and most enjoyable lifestyle changes that I have ever done.  Eating paleo is making me feel really good -- and I love that I can actually eat, and not worry about counting calories or carbs.  It is easy, and it taste good.  Who would have thought that eating "real" food would be so easy?

Friends and Family 24 Day Challenge Days 7&8

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!!!!!  So I did not write a post yesterday, so this post will cover both today and yesterday.

Day 7:  What a great day!  Had a lot of energy, and ate great!  Last night we went to my cousins house and grilled pork steaks, chicken, tomatoes, squash, and okra.  It was delicious and great to visit and listen to some records.  Last night was also the first time that I have gone out since I started the challenge.  Since I am not drinking during this challenge I ordered a soda water with lime - it worked out fine.  The problem I did find is that I got pretty sleepy around midnight.  Since not going out as much, and getting really great sleep at night -- I find myself going to bed pretty early now.  All in all, the day was good.  It was good to get out and hang out with some friends.

Day 8:  Well the FIBER drink started again today, and I have not made it a secret how I despise this part of the cleanse.  Luckily it is only three days, then the cleanse is over, and on to the "fat burn" part of the challenge.  Today I tried something different with the FIBER - I did a tablespoon at a time.  I put a tablespoon straight into my mouth, then chugged some water to get it down.  It is still awful.  I think tomorrow I am going to go back to 8oz of water, and just chugging it!  It is the fastest way to just get it over with.  Today we are also having are Farmers Market Grilling Day -- really looking forward to dinner now.  For lunch I made a pot roast in the slow cooker.  All it is is pork roast, mushrooms, carrots, and onions.  I put it all in the slowcooker before I went to bed last night.  Added some salt pepper and garlic.  Set it on low, and let it cook for 8 hours.  Now I have the most moist and delicious lunch -- I can not wait to eat it!

Another thing I am pretty excited about today is the season premier of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations -- he filmed this episode in Austin during SXSW.  Austin has become such a food centric city -- I am excited to see what he has to say about the food, the music scene, the people, and the great city that is Austin.  So tune in tonight to No Reservations on the Travel Channel - 8pm (C).

Friends and Family 24 Day Challenge Day 6

SFC Farmers Market this morning - we got chicken, thick cut bacon, squash, mushrooms, okra, beets, and sweet peppers.  Everything local!!!  I am looking forward to the little farmer's market labor day feast we are going to have.  I think we are going to go to another one tomorrow.  I love living in a city that it is so easy to find and buy local produce and meat.  Supporting local business is something that has been very important to me.  SFC Farmers Market - check this out, and if you live in the Austin area -- check it out!!!!

Day 6 has been good -- my eating has not been as good today, not that I have eaten badly - I just have not eaten enough.  I will do better tomorrow.  I have also been craving dairy and sweets today - I think it is because I did not make time to eat my 3 meals, 2 snacks, and drink enough water.  Usually when I am full and hydrated, I do not have any cravings.  But like I said, I will do better tomorrow.  I am feeling great - the first few days I felt a little groggy and tired.  But my energy level has been much higher the last couple of days.

My job interview went well today - thank you for the positive thoughts and prayers.  I will keep you posted.  I am ready to get back to working, and doing something different - and still have time for myself and my journey!
